Slaney’s Record Wins Have Silenced Her Critics

Where are all the loudmouths who so gleefully lacerated Mary Decker Slaney after she was felled in the Olympics, depriving her of the opportunity to win a gold medal?
Now that Mary has gone to Europe and proven once again that she is the unrivaled champion of women’s track at any distances she chooses to run, her critics will have to be content with backbiting about what they perceive to be flaws in Mary’s demeanor. That is always the the last resort of true losers.
