BIBLE BELT

Looks like the Concerned Parents (as opposed to the unConcerned) of the Parents Music Resource Center have actually gone to the trouble of listening to their kids’ music and they don’t even have to play it backwards to be shocked and disturbed anymore (“Parents Warn: Take the Sex & Shock Out of Rock,” by Patrick Goldstein, Aug. 25). Maybe it’s some progress.
But what about the Bible? If I were the PMRC, I’d keep it from the kids and slap a big red warning label on it. But then, maybe I have a different version than they do. Not only is mine graphically violent and sexually explicit, it tells me to keep my own house in order rather than force my own judgments on others.
