Fullerton

Tests for Police Due: New police officers in Fullerton will need to undergo psychological tests before they are assigned a badge. To conform with a new state law, the City Council last week approved contracting with Lawrence N. Blum, a police psychologist who also works with the cities of Brea, La Palma, Cypress, Laguna Beach and Pomona. The tests will cost the city from $105 to $175 each, according to a staff report. The new state law, which became effective July 1, mandates the evaluations before hiring. Fullerton police currently rely on polygraph tests, which officials said they intend to continue.
