Your “Skid Row Women’s Center Under Way” (Aug. 11) article brought back memories of 1978, when I and Albert Martin of the Hughes ARCHI systems met with the director of the Community Redevelopment Agency, Ed Helfeld, and his staff and presented our proposal--only to be told that the CRA had no money for this type of project.
It is interesting that they had money for the Skyline Project which they are subsidizing very heavily to make successful, all without any risk on the part of Forest City Dillon.
