A Renault-5 car driven by Jose Jacinto Burgos Arnaiz of Spain jumped a guardrail during a qualifying run for the Spanish car championship and crashed into the crowd, killing two people and injuring nine at Alcaniz, Spain.
Arnaiz suffered third-degree burns over 65% of his body, doctors said.
The race, scheduled for today, was suspended after the accident.
