Wesley Fuller is the most highly-touted newcomer on the Morse High School football team. Based on his first appearance in a Tiger uniform, Fuller Is everything he’s cracked up to be . . . even in Hawaii.
A junior running back/defensive back who transferred from Lincoln, Fuller returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown in Friday night’s game against St. Anthony High School at Maui.
Later in the first quarter, he ran an interception back 23 yards for another touchdown. Those two scores helped lead Morse to a 41-21 win.
Morse’s defense was responsible for two more touchdowns. Tiger defensive back Johnny Jackson picked off a pass by St. Anthony quarterback Clinton Ambrose and wound up in the end zone, 92 yards later. Orlin McNair recovered a fumble in the St. Anthony end zone.
Morse running back George Jackson scored on a 15-yard run in the third quarter. Morse’s other touchdown came on a 78-yard pass from quarterback Derrick Jackson to McNair.
