Chuck Nevitt, billed as the NBA’s tallest player, has signed a one-year contract with the Lakers. Nevitt, a 7-foot 5-inch, 245-pound center, was originally signed by the Lakers as a free agent before the 1984-85 season. He averaged 1.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots last season, and 1.4 points while appearing in seven playoff games.
