Indiana Ends 16-Game Losing Streak; Hoosier Fans Tear Down Goal Posts

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Quarterback Steve Bradley passed for 274 yards and one touchdown and ran 64 yards for another the Indiana ended major college football’s longest losing streak at 16 games by defeating Louisville, 41-28, Saturday.
Indiana fans tore down the goal posts after the victory.
The victory, sealed by junior tailback Damon Sweazy’s 15-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter, gave second-year Coach Bill Mallory his first victory with the Hoosiers and the 100th of his career. Indiana was 0-11 in 1984. Louisville, 0-2 under first-year Coach Howard Schnellenberger, dropped its eighth straight game.
