Schabarum View on AIDS

Wait until the voters in the supervisorial districts of Schabarum, Mike Antonovich and Deane Dana realize that their tax money is going to pay for medical care to treat AIDS at county medical facilities. These costs are estimated to be $8.9 million this year. The costs could exceed $20 million in 1986.
I believe the only current answer lies in risk-reduction. The taxpayers will not be happy to learn that their supervisors acted with such shortsightedness in rejecting valid risk-reduction educational programs, because they were spineless in not rejecting “moralistic” criticism.
This is not a moral issue but one of life and death. Do the supervisors really “represent the public” as Schabarum said?
