Gordon Clemons, former president of Intracorp, has been named president and chief operating officer of Caremark, the Newport Beach-based home health care, pharmaceuticals and health care products and health care management systems company.
Clemons, 41, joined Caremark in May as chief operating officer of the company’s Home Health Care of America division. His new assignment gives him operating responsibility for the company’s remaining operations: America’s Pharmacy, a prescription drug and health care products business, and The Health Data Institute, a provider of health care management systems to large companies.
Before joining Caremark, Clemons was president and chief operating officer of Intracorp, a Cigna affiliate that provides rehabilitation services.
James M. Sweeney, Caremark chairman and chief executive officer, said Clemons was named to head all three divisions to provide a unified approach to the company’s business. Caremark acquired America’s Pharmacy and The Health Data Institute earlier this year in separate purchases.
