Santa Ana : Baby Recovered; Pair Held on Kidnap Charge

A 9-month-old girl has been returned to her mother after the arrests of a transient couple charged with kidnaping the child and stealing a car belonging to the mother’s boyfriend, police said Tuesday.
The suspects, Steve Andrew Arias, 30, and Terri Lynn Arias, 31, were arrested late Monday in some bushes in the 300 block of East 17th Street in Santa Ana, where they had been living.
The baby, Kori Campbell, had been missing from the Casa Cordova Hotel in Anaheim since Saturday morning when the girl’s mother, Kelly Campbell, left them with the suspects while she ran errands, Anaheim Police Lt. Stan Kantor said .
The suspects took the child and the car and did not return, Kantor said.
Investigators decline to state a possible motive for the kidnaping, but Kantor said no ransom demand was made.
