La Mirada

An ordinance restricting the placement of satellite dishes has been adopted by the City Council. The new law prevents the satellite dishes from being placed 10 feet or higher above ground and does not allow them to be installed on rooftops. It requires that dishes be placed in backyards and more than five feet from property lines.

The ordinance was passed in response to a growing number of complaints about placement of the dishes, which are used to pick up television signals from hundreds of miles away and are becoming increasingly popular.
