Williams Keeps Title on Decision at Forum

J.B. Williams, 172 1/2 pounds, of Los Angeles won a unanimous 12-round decision over Grover (Torpedo) Robinson, 174, of Fremont, Calif., Wednesday night to retain his Stroh’s light-heavyweight boxing title at the Forum.
In a scheduled 10-rounder, Brian Mueller, 154 1/2, of Las Vegas scored a third-round knockout over Humberton de los Rios, 161, of Pomona in a middleweight elimination bout.

Light-heavyweight boxer J.B. Williamson was incorrectly called J.B. Williams in a report on his unanimous decision over Grover (Torpedo) Robinson at the Forum in Thursday’s editions.
In a six-round preliminary, Francisco Segura, 127 1/2, of Coachella won a decision over Gus Lopez, 128, of Los Angeles. In a four-rounder, Glendon McGee, 145, of Compton scored a fourth-round knockout over Adam Orosco, 147, of Chino.
