A liberal Jewish weekly newspaper said it is withdrawing support for Mayor Tom Bradley in his unannounced bid for governor because he kept silent until after a speech by black militant Louis Farrakhan. An editorial in today’s edition of the Heritage urges the reelection of Republican Gov. George Deukmejian. It is the first time the newspaper, which had supported Bradley, has endorsed a Republican for governor in its 31-year history. The Heritage has a statewide circulation of about 44,000, most of which is in Southern California, said Editor-Publisher Herb Brin, 70, who signed the editorial.
