A bus went out of control in San Jose while the driver was fending off a knife-wielding passenger and slammed into a power pole, injuring the driver and four passengers, police said. Santa Clara County Transit driver Carlos Matta, 31, suffered a slashed hand in the scuffle; the passengers sustained minor injuries, officers said. The man fled into a group of people working in a field along California 237.
