Senate Committee Unanimously OKs Miller for OMB Job

WASHINGTON — The Senate Governmental Affairs Committee unanimously approved the nomination of James C. Miller III for budget director today and sent his name to the Senate for confirmation.
Miller, now head of the Federal Trade Commission, was selected by President Reagan to replace David Stockman as director of the Office of Management and Budget.

Although he was questioned closely about that issue in his confirmation hearing Tuesday, the issue is not expected to hamper his approval.
