City-owned property at 223rd Street and Abalone Avenue will be used to relocate some businesses displaced by the city’s condemnation of 26 acres sold to American Honda Motor Co.
The City Council, acting as the city’s redevelopment agency, hopes to sell portions of the 3.72-acre parcel to businesses wanting to stay in the city. City Manager LeRoy Jackson said that at least one business, Frank Scotto’s Towing Service, has agreed to buy a portion of the land. The land has been appraised at $12.50 per square foot.
