Big Eight Roundup : Iowa State Upsets Kansas on Last-Ditch Drive, 22-21

Don Poprilo scored on his only two carries of the game, including the game-winner from three yards out with 2:45 left to lift Iowa State to a 22-21 victory over Kansas at Ames, Iowa, Saturday in a Big Eight Conference opener for both teams.
Poprilo, a sophomore, also scored on a three-yard run with 1:59 left in the third quarter.
His game-winning touchdown capped a 10-play, 74-yard drive that began after Kansas fullback Mark Henderson fumbled and Bill Berthusen recovered at the Iowa State 26.
Alex Espinoza completed 3 of 5 passes for 53 yards to move the Cyclones into scoring position.
Iowa State, a 16-point underdog, bounced back from a 9-0 first-quarter deficit to boost its record to 3-2, handing the Jayhawks their second loss in six games.
Colorado 38 Missouri 7--Mark Hatcher rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another at Boulder, Colo., to lead the Buffaloes over winless Missouri.
Colorado used its conference opener to improve to 4-1 overall this season. Missouri is 0-5.
Hatcher, who gained 151 yards in 25 carries, scored on runs of 3, 4 and 5 yards and hit Mike Marquez with a 4-yard scoring pass. Larry Eckel had a 44-yard field goal in the second quarter, and Jojo Collins scored on a 27-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Eric Drain scored on a two-yard dive in the third quarter for Missouri.
