Owners of residential rental units in the downtown area or Southeast San Diego may qualify for low-interest loans through the San Diego Housing Commission to repair or remodel their property.
The rehabilitation program is designed to provide incentives for owners of rental property to improve their units. The program’s objective is to provide rental housing that is affordable to the elderly, disabled, and low- and moderate-income families.
Fifteen-year loans are now being offered at rates as low as 6.5%, said Ben Montijo, executive director.
Rental properties in the following ZIP codes are eligible: 92101, 92111, 92113, 92116, 92154 and 92173.
For more information, call Lyle Knudson or Harriett Ferrigno at the Housing Commission.
