The Greensboro Open made player of the year Lanny Wadkins the first golfer selected in the inaugural $2-million Nabisco Challenge PGA tour player draft, then took his brother, Bobby, in the third round.
The Greater Greensboro Open, by the luck of the draw, was the first of 41 tournaments selecting players in the 3 1/2-hour draft.
Each tournament drafted five-man teams to represent it in tour competition in 1986. The team with the most points at the end of the year will earn $500,000.
The Los Angeles Open will be represented by Masters Champion Bernhard Langer, Johnny Miller, Nick Price, Keith Clearwater and Kikuo Arai.
