Ford Aerospace & Communications Corp. has been awarded a $57-million contract from the Naval Air Systems Command to manufacture guidance and control systems for Sidewinder missiles. The work will be done at the company’s Newport Beach plant where 10,000 such systems have already been built for the Sidewinder over the last 25 years.
The latest contract calls the production of 1,682 systems. Deliveries will be made from November 1986 through June 1987.
