A 29-year-old man was in critical condition Friday after he was shot at least twice in the chest during a barroom argument, Santa Ana police said.
The victim, identified by a Fountain Valley Regional Hospital spokeswoman as Chano Sotelo Vargas of Santa Ana, was involved in an argument with another man inside the Notchistlense bar at 3601 West 1st St. about 7 p.m., Lt. Bob Jordan said.
The other man pulled out a handgun, shot Vargas and ran out of the bar, Jordan said. Vargas was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital’s trauma center.
The suspect has not been found and the investigation is continuing, Jordan said.
