CARLSBAD — A 27-year-old Carlsbad man was arraigned Friday on federal charges alleging that he robbed two banks in September, 1983.
Alfred R. Gochicoa was arrested Thursday outside his Carlsbad apartment after he jumped out a second-story window and attempted to elude FBI agents and Carlsbad police officers, an FBI spokeswoman said.
Gochicoa is charged with robbing two branches of Bank of America; one in Bonita on Sept. 6, 1983, and the other in the 4400 block of University Avenue on Sept. 8, 1983, the spokeswoman said. Authorities did not release the amount of money stolen.
Gochicoa is being held in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown San Diego in lieu of $25,000 bail.
