MEXICO CITY — The Mexico City government is using about 200 out-of-service city buses as portable classrooms for areas where schools were damaged by earthquakes in September.
“The adaptation of the buses requires only a miniumum investment. Because of this, educational authorities (and the city government) are cooperating in the program to provide electricity, maintenance and guards,” the government said in a news release.
Each bus will seat 40 students and the news release noted that “the teacher can count on plenty of space to conduct classes.”
