Mount Carmel Is Host of Water Polo Playoffs

SAN DIEGO — Mount Carmel figures to be the team to beat when the San Diego Section water polo playoffs open this morning with four games at Mount Carmel High School.
The top-seeded Sundevils (20-0) will play Helix (17-7) in the last game of the day. University (16-7) and Mount Miguel (17-5) will open the day’s play at 9:30. No. 2 Valhalla (19-1) will play Poway (19-2) in the second game, followed by Coronado (21-1) vs. Crawford (13-13).
The semifinals are scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Carmel. The championship game will be played next at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mesa College.
