Gerulaitis to Replace Connors Against Lendl

Vitas Gerulaitis will replace injured Jimmy Connors in the Forum Championship Tennis Series exhibition match Monday night against Ivan Lendl at the Forum.
Connors reportedly will be unable to play in the best-of-three set match against the world’s No. 1-ranked player because of back spasms caused by torn muscles.
Connors is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks.
