I give up. I’ve come to the conclusion that Stevie Nicks will NEVER receive a fair review in The Times (Record Rack, Nov. 24).
On her first two solo albums (this is her third solo LP, not her fourth, as was stated), as well as the last few Fleetwood Mac albums, the complaints have centered on her not branching out, on “repeating” or “rehashing” herself, on “playing it safe.”
Now, when she tries something new on “Rock a Little,” she is accused of being “trend-conscious” and having something to “prove.”
Let’s face it people, you’re ripping the lady simply because of who she is, when all you should be doing is simply critiquing the music.
