Girls Basketball Roundup : Marina Edges Estancia in Irvine Tournament

Heather Kirkup scored 14 points and added a school-record 12 steals Monday night to lead the Marina High School girls’ basketball team to a 52-20 win over Estancia in the opening round of the Irvine Tournament at Irvine High School.
Kathy Stuppy and Temre Kuester each added 11 points for the Vikings, and Dawn Charroin added 10. Marina will play Orange today in the second round.
In other Irvine Tournament action:
Orange 66, Irvine 59--The Panthers defeated the Vaqueros at Irvine High to advance to the quarterfinals.
Brea-Olinda 75, La Sierra 44--The Wildcats easily defeated the Eagles to advance to the quarterfinals.
