Hussein Meets Syrian

AMMAN, Jordan — King Hussein met for four hours Tuesday with Syrian Premier Abdel-Raouf Kasm. Afterward, the Jordanian leader was invited to Damascus to meet with Syrian President Hafez Assad. Kasm’s talks were the first at this high a level since ties between the two Arab nations were severely strained when Jordan sided with Iraq and Syria backed Iran in the Persian Gulf War.
