John Selbe, a former assistant football coach at Cypress High School, has been named the Centurions’ head coach, Athletic Director Bob Wilton announced.
Selbe, 32, spent five years at Cypress before taking an assistant’s position at Irvine High last year. A graduate of Western High and Cal State Fullerton, Selbe replaces Kris Van Hook, who announced his resignation before the Centurions’ season-ending loss to Katella. Cypress finished last in the Empire League with an 0-7 record, 3-7 overall.
