Director Sidney Lumet, whose first movie was the classic “Twelve Angry Men,” was given the Bill of Rights Award for 1985 by the Southern California unit of the American Civil Liberties Union. The award was presented over the weekend by the ACLU’s Southern California division at its annual Bill of Rights Dinner at the Ambassador.
