Trades May Wake Up the Rest of the Kings

Accompanying your report of the recent trades made by the Kings were pictures of the principals involved. One only needs to look at the pictures to know the story: First there’s goalie Roland Melanson and below we find new defenseman Grant Ledyard. Both are wearing bright, enthusiastic smiles. Then there is Brian MacLellan, who looks like he’s trying to wake up!

Coach Pat Quinn and GM Rogie Vachon would do well to peer into the eyes of their remaining players to see who’s still sleeping. Maybe the shock of Mac’s trade will wake them up finally, or maybe we, the fans, should pass this season off as another Kings’ slumber party.
