Terry Bowden, head football coach at Salem College in Salem, W. Va., has resigned to take an assistant coaching job at the University of Akron under Gerry Faust. Bowden, 29 and the son of Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden, had a 19-13 record in three years at Salem, an NAIA school.
