GRISLY BANKRUPT
I read with increasing shame David Crook’s dissection of Peter Bogdanovich’s bankruptcy torment (“Bogdanovich’s Bankrupt Memorial,” Dec. 19).
Why the grisly details? To what end? There is nothing illegal in what happened here. He has harmed no one but himself. He is not a criminal, so what is the news? The guy has serious financial troubles. OK. Do I need to know about it? The whole thing makes me feel smarmy.
It’s a shame you didn’t feel that way, too. But maybe in these days of inquiring minds, your competition is not really down in the Valley, but in grocery store checkout lines next to People magazine. Shame on you.
