Work Begun on Newport North

Construction has begun in Newport Beach on Newport North, an Irvine Pacific Development Co. project of 120 one- and two-story town houses on an 11.2-acre site bounded by Jamboree Road, MacArthur Boulevard and Bison Avenue, adjacent to Upper Newport Bay.
The homes, in four floor plans, will range from 990 to 1,280 square feet, with two bedrooms and lofts and up to 2 1/2 baths.
Prices are expected to start under $160,000, and sales are tentatively planned for next summer. The developer is keeping an interest list at the Irvine Co. Homefinding Center at Culver Drive and Barranca Parkway.
