A group is pressing Chevron to leave Angola.

The Conservative Caucus is campaigning to force the oil giant to shut down its operations in Angola on grounds that its presence is bolstering the Soviet-backed government there. Chevron spokesmen said the $1-million campaign was ill-founded. They said the company, which has operated in Angola for 30 years, maintains “a position of strict neutrality” with the Marxist government.
