Cap Cities-ABC Merger Final

NEW YORK — Capital Cities Communications Inc. today completed its $3.5-billion acquisition of American Broadcasting Cos., which operates the ABC television network.
The new name for the merged companies is Capital Cities-ABC Inc.
Capital Cities owns television and radio stations and has various publishing interests, such as the Fairchild Publications business newspaper group and the Kansas City Times and Star newspapers.
The television group of ABC, which is the larger of the two companies, operates TV stations and provides network programming for more than 200 affiliated stations.
