The office automation products, Xerox’s third wave since April, include an electronic publishing system, a low-cost network for linking personal computers by ordinary telephone wire, software, a facsimile machine, a laser printer and a color ink-jet printer. The strongest new product is the Documenter, a system for electronic publishing that allows a user to create a graphic-filled document on Xerox’s 6085 professional computer workstation and reproduce it with any of the company’s printers. All of the new products will be available in the first half of the year, the company said.
