Los Angeles

I am sick and tired of hearing people referring to our fair city of Los Angeles as L.A. It seems that everyone is using it, especially the media. We don’t hear San Francisco referred to as S.F. or Las Vegas as L.V. and, I can also imagine a New Yorker’s response to someone calling his city N.Y.--although I suspect they started this trend in the first place.
However, the most annoying aspect of this is when one travels abroad and finds people (mostly teen-agers) who never heard of Los Angeles, but are familiar with L.A.
It’s time Angelenos take pride in their city and start calling it by its proper name.
