San Diego Prep Basketball : Sweetwater Defeated by Castle Park in Battle Between Top 10 Opponents

NATIONAL CITY — Seventh-ranked Sweetwater High School, coming off an emotional Metro Conference loss to Castle Park Wednesday, lost, 85-60, to No. 10 Madison Thursday in a battle of Top 10 nonconference opponents at Sweetwater.
Madison (9-3), led by seniors Eric Jackson and Jimmie Dean, led 18-12 after one quarter and 36-24 at halftime.
“The guys were still emotionally flat from yesterday,” said Sweetwater Coach David Ybarra, referring to the Red Devils’ 74-70 loss to Castle Park. “They weren’t ready to play. They were still talking about Castle Park.”
Jackson, who had 31 points Tuesday against St. Augustine, led all scorers with 30 points. He now averages 22.2 points per game. Dean added 24. Sean Styles led Sweetwater (8-6) with 16 points.
