Allan N. Lowy Elected to Head L. A. Building Industry Group

Allan N. Lowy, president of Los Angeles-based Lowy Development Corp., has been elected president of the Los Angeles chapter, Building Industry Assn., succeeding Frank Thompson of W&B; Builders.
Lowy has been active in the Building Industry Assn. since 1973. Before he formed his own company in 1983, he was senior vice president of Lesny Development Co. Before that, he was affiliated with Beverly Hills Savings & Loan.
A graduate of UCLA and Loyola Law School, Lowy is a member of the California State Bar and a licensed real estate broker. He is program chairman, membership chairman and vice president of the Sales & Marketing Council, member of the Los Angeles/Ventura Sales & Marketing Council, special advisor for legislative affairs and non-dues income to the Building Industry Assn./Southern California Board of Directors and Executive Board, and member of the legislative committee of the California Building Industry Assn.
Other new officers of the chapter include Ted Cox, W&A; Builders, first vice president; Harvey Steinberg, Inter-City Planning & Development, and Richard Garber, First Nationwide Savings, vice presidents; William Lockert, Resitec, secretary, and Sol Shye, Cal-Coast Development, treasurer.
