Sheriff’s investigators said a 76-year-old Carson man shot and killed his daughter’s 28-year-old boyfriend after apparently mistaking the younger man for a burglar. Deputy Rick Adams said the father confronted and shot the man outside the father’s home shortly after midnight. The boyfriend died about an hour later at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. The father, whose name was not disclosed, was not arrested. However, investigators said the case will be turned over to the district attorney to decide if criminal charges will be filed. The victim’s name was not disclosed pending notification of family members.
