United Technologies Corp., reported that its fourth-quarter profit was 4% higher than the like 1984 period, although there was a drop in orders for spare parts and jet engines. Robert F. Daniel, president and chief executive, said that the company’s Pratt & Whitney aircraft unit did a good job, despite the decline in engine shipments and orders for military spare parts.
