Four shots were fired inside a Straw Hat Pizza restaurant in Mira Mesa Tuesday night during a robbery by two men, San Diego police reported. The restaurant manager reported no injuries to workers or customers when one man armed with a handgun fired a shot into the ceiling and three shots into the floor while grabbing an unknown amount of money from the cash register.
The bandits fled in an unidentified vehicle, police said. Police dispatchers said that the thieves could be the same men wanted in other recent robberies at pizza restaurants.
