SAN FRANCISCO — Twelve passengers and a flight attendant were injured today when a jet flying from Chicago to San Francisco ran into turbulence over Utah, a United Airlines spokesman reported.
United Flight 127, carrying 138 passengers and a crew of six, landed safely in San Francisco where medical personnel were treating the injured, according to the spokesman, who said most of those hurt suffered leg injuries and were not wearing seat belts when the turbulence struck. There was no damage to the plane, he said.
