Owner of Leafs Is Hospitalized

TORONTO — Harold Ballard, the outspoken 82-year-old owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs, was admitted to the hospital Tuesday and was in satisfactory condition after reportedly suffering chest pains.
Valerie Stam, nursing coordinator at Wellesley Hospital, said Ballard was listed in satisfactory condition late in the day. She said no further details would be released until today.
His wife Dorothy died in 1969.
