Santa Monica : Suit Seeks to Block Kramer
- Share via
A group seeking to stop construction of a four-story automobile dealership and any other large projects in the middle of the city has filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Santa Monicans for Reasonable Growth went to court last week, contending that a Honda dealership planned by Kramer Motors at Santa Monica Boulevard and 18th Street is too big. The group also maintains that the project is inconsistent with the city’s general plan.
The lawsuit asks the court to invalidate the City Council’s approval of the project. It also calls on the court to prevent the council and the city Planning Commission from approving any large-scale projects in the mid-city in the future. Defendants in the suit are the city of Santa Monica, the council, the Planning Commission and Kramer Motors.
