Bell Gardens : Casino to Rent City Parking
- Share via
In an effort to provide parking relief to both Eastern Avenue merchants and Bicycle Club patrons, the City Council, in its role as the Redevelopment Agency, approved an agreement Monday to rent portions of a city lot to the casino on a monthly basis.
Although the city has acquired nine parcels on Live Oak and Priory streets for the soon-to-be completed parking lot, only two will be rented at this time, City Manager Claude Booker said. The other seven parcels, most of which contain housing units that are now being vacated, still have to be demolished and paved, he said.
He added that the club will begin using the two lots this week.
