Private Ledger Financial Services reported a pretax profit of $854,000 for the nine months ended Dec. 31, compared to a net loss of $673,000 for the same three quarters in the prior year. The company, a subsidiary of Crown Life Insurance Co. of Canada, reported a 12% increase in earnings for the nine months, to $28 million. Private Ledger has changed its fiscal year-end to Dec. 31 from March 31.
