MUNICH, West Germany — A Russian-born editor at the U.S.-backed Radio Liberty station that beams its broadcasts to the Soviet Union is sought as a missing person, the station and Munich police said today.
Both police and the station said there is no reason to believe that Oleg Tumanov, 42, the station’s acting chief editor, who has been missing six days, might have defected back to Moscow. Tumanov deserted from the Soviet navy in 1965 by jumping off a ship in the Mediterranean and swimming six miles to the Libyan coast.
